The City of Newark’s Special Event Permit Application Fees ($50.00) for street closure will be waived.

WHEREAS, the Municipal Council is supportive of community events that provide wholesome family entertainment and education that allows residents the opportunity to gather and renew old acquaintances and establish new ones; and
WHEREAS, Peshine Avenue Alumni Reunion Block Party provides the City of Newark the perfect opportunity to collaborate with various support groups and organizations, families and friends that have attended Peshine Avenue School and some of their children that may be attending the school today; and
WHEREAS, the Municipal Council has indicated its support of the Peshine Avenue Alumni Reunion Block Party, to be held on Peshine Avenue between Custer Avenue and Watson Avenue, on Saturday, August 13, 2022. from 12:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
1. The Municipal Council does hereby indicate its support of the Peshine Avenue Alumni Reunion Block Party, to be held on Peshine Avenue between Custer Avenue and Watson Avenue, on Saturday, August 13, 2022, from 12:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.
2. The Municipal Council is co-sponsoring this special event and waives the City of Newark’s Special Event Permit Application Fee of Fifty Dollars and Zero Cents ($50.00), however, it does not waive insurance coverage requirements due to be provided by event organizers or costs above service charges described in R.O. 5:10-1 et seq.
STATEMENT
This Resolution supports and declares co-sponsorship by the Municipal Council of the Peshine Avenue Alumni Reunion Block Party, waiving the City of Newark’s Special Event Permit Application Fee of ($50.00), for an event to be held on Peshine Avenue between Custer Avenue and Watson Avenue (South Ward), on Saturday, August 13, 2022, from 12:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., sponsored by Council Member, Patrick O. Council.
