The City of Newark's Special Event Permit Application Fees ($50.00) for street closure will be waived.

WHEREAS, the Municipal Council is supportive of community events that provide wholesome family entertainment and education that allows residents the opportunity to gather and renew old acquaintances and establish new ones; and
WHEREAS, West Ward South 11th Street Block Party will provide the City of Newark the perfect opportunity to celebrate with residents while providing activities such as biking, skateboarding, roller skating, jump rope, dancing, hopscotch, and other activities; and
WHEREAS, the Municipal Council has indicated its support of the West Ward South 11th Street Block Party, to be held at South 11th Street between 11th Avenue and Central Avenue, on Saturday, September 3, 2022 (Rain Date: Monday, September 5, 2022) from 12:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
1. The Municipal Council does hereby indicate its support of the West Ward South 11th Street Block Party to be held on South 11th Street between 11th Avenue and Central Avenue, Saturday, September 3, 2022 (Rain Date: Monday, September 5, 2022) from 12:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.
