WHEREAS, an emergency has arisen in Special Item of Appropriation in the amount of $628,315.00 for the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) and General Assistance/Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (GA/SNAP) and no provision has been made in the 2022 Temporary Budget for the aforesaid purpose and N.J.S.A. 40A: 4-20 provides for the creation of an emergency appropriation for the purpose above-mentioned; and
WHEREAS, by award letter, dated June 7, 2022 from the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development, the City of Newark has been awarded $628,315.00 to provide assistance in job placement for participants and disbursement of fun...
