WHEREAS, on January 5, 2023, the Municipal Council adopted Resolution 7R8-b establishing a Sister Cities Relationship with the United States of Kailasa; and
WHEREAS, the legislation did not adequately consider or address the impact of the relationship; and
WHEREAS, the Municipal Council desires to rescind the previously authorized Sister Cities Relationship with the United States of Kailasa.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
1. Resolution 7R8-b is hereby rescinded in its entirety and shall be of no further force or effect.
2. Copies of this Resolution are to be sent to the Mayor and the United States of Kailasa.
STATEMENT
This Resolution rescinds Resolution 7R8-b adopted on January 5, 2023 and terminates the Sister Cities Relationship with the United States of Kailasa.
