To provide grant funding for the Newark Youth Academy targeting seventy-five (75) out-of-school juveniles, who have not succeeded in a traditional academic environment.

WHEREAS, the City of Newark desires to apply for and obtain a New Jersey legislative "line item" grant from the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs (the "Department") for approximately Two Million Dollars and Zero Cents ($2,000,000.00) to carry out an "Anti-Violence Out-of-School 2023" Project, to provide funds for the Newark Youth Street Academy, which will target seventy-five (75) out-of-school youth who have not succeeded in a traditional academic environment; and

WHEREAS, on or about November 1, 2022, the City's Business Administrator did cause an application for such grant funds to be submitted to the Department (a copy of which is attached hereto and made a part hereof); and
