WHEREAS, the State of New Jersey, Department of Corrections granted the City of Newark (the "City") the following New Jersey Local, Empowered, Accountable and Determined (NJ LEAD) Re-entry Initiative Category A - Reintegration Service Coordination in Urban Communities in New Jersey allocation grant for State Fiscal Year 2022; and
WHEREAS, the goal of the NJ LEAD Re-entry Initiative is to provide re-entry services to former inmates returned to our jurisdiction and reduce recidivism via a re-entry liaison position; and
WHEREAS, the City received a sub-award allocation of One Thousand Dollars and Zero Cents ($100,000.00); and
WHEREAS, upon receipt of the grant Notice of Award (NOA), the Mayor of the City of Newark and/or his designee(s), the Business Administrator and/or the Deputy Mayor of Workforce Development and/or the Director of NewarkWORKS must enter into and execute the Sub-award Contract and the Certification Agreement; and
