This Resolution authorizes the Acting Director of Finance and the Tax Collector to conduct a Tax Sale to enforce Municipal Liens.

WHEREAS, N.J.S.A. 54:5-19 et seq., provides for a Municipality to conduct a Municipal Tax Sale to enforce liens whenever unpaid property taxes or other unpaid municipal charges remain on the books and records of the Tax Collector for more than one (1) year; and
WHEREAS, there are at present outstanding delinquent taxes and other municipal charges on the books and records of the Tax Collector for the year 2022 and prior.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
1. The Director of the Department of Finance and Tax Collector are hereby authorized to hold a Tax Sale on or before December 29, 2023, to enforce Municipal Liens pursuant to N.J.S.A. 54:5-19 et seq.
