WHEREAS, the Municipal Council is supportive of community events that provide wholesome family entertainment that allows residents the opportunity to gather and renew old acquaintances and establish new ones; and
WHEREAS, the “Grand Opening Block Party” provides the West Ward’s residents the opportunity to enjoy a festive day of food, drink, dancing and music; and
WHEREAS, the Municipal Council has indicated it supports of the “Grand Opening Block Party” at 475 S. 15th Street, from 10:00 A.M. until 8:00 P.M.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
1. The Municipal Council does hereby indicate its support of the “Grand Opening Block Party” at 475 S. 15th Street (West Ward), on Saturday, June 3, 2023, from 10:00 A.M. until 8:00 P.M.
2. The Municipal Council is co-sponsoring this special event and waives the City of Newark’s Special Event Permit Fee ($50.00), however, it does not waive insurance coverage requirements due to be provided by event organizers or costs above service charges described in R.O. 5:10-1 et seq.
STATEMENT
This Resolution supports and declares co-sponsorship by the Municipal Council of the “Grand Opening Block Party”, waiving the City of Newark’s Special Event Permit Application Fee of ($50.00), at 475 S. 15th Street (West Ward), on Saturday, June 3, 2023, from 10:00 A.M. until 8:00 P.M., co-sponsored by Council Member, Dupre L. Kelly.
