WHEREAS, on or about December 14, 2022, the Business Administrator, on behalf of the City of Newark applied for a Food Security Planning Grant from the New Jersey Economic Development Authority ("NJEDA") for approximately One Hundred Twenty-Four Thousand Eight Hundred Fifty Dollars and Zero Cents ($124,850.00) to carry out a "Food Security Planning" program to fund the development of an action-oriented plan leveraging the identified distressed asset to improve food access and food security for the Newark South food desert community (a copy of said application is attached hereto and made a part hereof); and
WHEREAS, on May 16, 2023, as a result of this application, the City of Newark has been awarded a grant in the amount of One Hundred Twenty-Four Thousand Eight Hundred Fifty Dollars and Zero Cents ($124,850.00) from NJEDA for said...
