WHEREAS, Ordinance 6PSF-f, adopted on May 20, 2015, authorizes the designation of an intersection, etc., for honorary and ceremonial purposes; and

WHEREAS, the late Detective Brian Keith McAdams, Sr., Newark-born and raised, was known by his close friends and family as B-Mac, who was a beloved and popular figure not only throughout his 87 Lindsey Avenue neighborhood, but also throughout much of Newark's West Ward and East Orange, where he attended and graduated from Essex Catholic Boys High School; and

WHEREAS, Detective McAdams began his long remarkable and exemplary career with the Department of Public Safety, Police Division in 2002, where he served with distinction for over nineteen (19) years, until his unfortunate duty-related Covid-19 death in 2021; and

WHEREAS, during his meritorious career with the Department of Public Safety, Police Division, Detective McAdams rose through the ranks and was promoted to Detective, where he served in the vitally important Candidates Investigations Unit; and

WHEREAS, throughout his short, but productive life, "B-Mac" was unabashedly committed to his family, friends, neighborhood and the City of Newark. His generosity had no limits, as he willingly donated both his time a...
