Original Resolution 7R8-m(AS) adopted on August 2, 2017, authorized a ceremonial street designation for Mrs. Blanche Judkins.
Due to the recent passing of Mr. Theordore Judkins, this amendment will modify the ceremonial street designation to rename the intersection Theordore and Blanche Judkins Way.

WHEREAS, Ordinance 6PSF-e, adopted on May 20, 2015, authorizes the designation of an intersection, etc., for honorary and ceremonial purposes; and
WHEREAS, on August 2, 2017, the Municipal Council adopted Resolution 7R8-m(AS) to rename the intersection of Tuxedo Parkway and Ivy Street, as "Mrs. Blanche Judkins Way", for honorary and ceremonial purposes; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Theordore "Ted" Judkins, a longtime Newark resident and President and founding member of the Tuxedo Parkway Block Association and Executive Member of the United Vailsburg Association, he was known and respected in the Ivy Hill section of the City of Newark; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Judkins enjoyed spending quality time with his family and attending his sons and grandsons' sporting events; and
WHEREAS, his wife, Mrs. Blanche Judkins moved to Tuxedo Parkway in the City of Newark and became actively involved within the community, assisted in forming the Tuxedo Parkway Block Association and Community Crime Fighting Association; and
