WHEREAS, the New Jersey Transit’s Bus Safety Department conducted an investigation for the proposed bus stop designation and found it acceptable as a bus stop; and
WHEREAS, at the request of the Department of Engineering and review of the traffic operations by New Jersey Transit in conjunction with the City’s Department of Engineering, Division of Traffic and Signals, and pursuant to N.J.S.A. 39:4-197(3)(a) of Title 39 of the Revised Statues of New Jersey, the following described location is added as a bus stop:
ADD BUS STOP:
1. In the South Ward, along Pennsylvania Avenue, northbound, on the easterly side thereof:
a. Vanderpool Street, nearside.
Beginning at the southerly curb line of Vanderpool Street and extending 105 feet southerly therefrom.
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 39:4-197(3)(a) of Title 39 of the Revised Statutes of New Jersey, a municipality may by ordinance, resolution or regulation designate, relocate or delete a bus stop.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
1. In the South Ward, the following described location is hereby designated as a bus stop:
Pennsylvania Avenue, northbound on the easterly side at Vanderpool Street, nearside location. Beginning at the southerly curb line of Vanderpool Street and extending 105 feet southerly therefrom.
2. No municipal funds expended for this act.
3. No Amendment to this resolution without the approval of the Municipal Council.
4. Upon approval, the Director of the Department of Engineering will forward a copy of this Resolution to the Office of the City Clerk to notify them of the Local Government’s approval for the designation of a bus stop as stated.
5. Upon approval, a certified copy of this Resolution shall be forwarded to New Jersey Transit to notify them of the Local Government’s approval for the designation of a bus stop as stated.
6. Pursuant to N.J.S.A. 39:4-8(e) of Title 39 of the Revised Statutes of New Jersey, the proposed bus stop designation does not require New Jersey Department of Transportation’s approval.
STATEMENT
This Resolution designates a bus stop in the South Ward as follows:
Along Pennsylvania Avenue northbound, on the easterly side thereof at Vanderpool Street, at the nearside location, beginning at the southerly curb line of Vanderpool Street and extending 105 feet southerly therefrom.
