WHEREAS, Ordinance 6PSF-f, adopted on May 20, 2015, authorizes the designation of an intersection, etc., for honorary and ceremonial purposes; and

WHEREAS, the Newark Knights Motorcycle Club (the "Newark Knights") was founded in 1972, and now celebrates fifty-two (52) years of service to the City of Newark through the Newark Knights Foundation, in which young riders continue to be mentored on the safety of riding and the importance of giving back to their community; and

WHEREAS, over the years the Newark Knights, became rooted in the City of Newark and supported a number of organizations and community groups and events; they adopted the John F. Kennedy School where they meet with students in an effort to provide everyday essentials and necessary items to address their needs; they also established a partnership with Allen AME Church, attending services and assisting in church community held events; and

WHEREAS, the Newark Knights Motorcycle Club, is an organization that has remained in the City for over fifty (50) years and will soon erect a new modern facility with mixed-use space for community groups to solidify that they are tightly woven into the fabric of the community and are proud of their Newark heritage and will continue...
