WHEREAS, the City of Newark's ("the City") Department of Administration, Office of Violence Prevention and Trauma Recovery (OVP), provides support and empowers individuals and families who have been impacted by crime to help them restore their dignity and safety. The OVP works with the inherent resiliency and self-determination of clients to encourage them to lead their path to restoring their personal power under the New Jersey Victims of Crime Act (VOCA); and
WHEREAS, the State of New Jersey, Office of the Attorney General, Department of Law and Public Safety, PO Box 081, Trenton, New Jersey 08625-0081, has made grant funds available for the provision of such services through the Victims of Crime Act (VOCA) Victim Assistance Grant (VAG) Program; and
