WHEREAS, the Municipal Council is supportive of community events that provide wholesome family entertainment and education that allows residents the opportunity to gather and renew old acquaintances and establish new ones; and
WHEREAS, the Better Together Community Block Party will be a fun-filled event with community allies, families, neighbors, free food, fitness, entertainment edutainment, games services, and resources; and
WHEREAS, Better Together Community Block Party will be held Sunday, September 21, 2025 at South 17th between 18th Avenue and 19th Avenue, (South Ward), from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
1. The Municipal Council does hereby indicate its support of the Better Together Community Block Party will be held Sunday, September 21, 202 on South 17th between 18th Avenue and 19th Avenue, (South Ward), from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M.
2. The Municipal Council is co-sponsoring this special event and waives the City of Newark's Special Event Permit Application ($100.00), however, it does not waive insurance coverage requirements due to be provided by event organizers or costs above service charges described in R.O. 5:10-1 et seq.
