Resolution 7R1-j, adopted January 19, 2017, authorized City to extend contract E2016-10 for seven (7) months from October 1, 2016 to April 30, 2017, or until, such time as a new contract is awarded but in no event beyond June 30, 2017, unless authorized by the Municipal Council to Dejana Industries Inc., 30 Sagamore Hill Drive, Port Washington, New York 11050 to provide street sweeping services for the West Ward, in the amount not to exceed $350,000.00.

WHEREAS, on January 19, 2017, through Resolution 7R1-j, the Newark Municipal Council authorized the Mayor and/or his designee the Business Administrator and/or the Director of the Department of Public Works, formerly known as the Director of Neighborhood and Recreational Services, to execute an extension of Emergency Contract # E2016-10 with Dejana Industries, Inc., 30 Sagamore Hill Drive, Port Washington, NY 11050, to continue providing street sweeping services, for the West Ward at a cost not to exceed $350,000.00, from October 1, 2016, through April 30, 2017, or until a new contract is in place, but in no event beyond June 30, 2017, unless authorized by the Municipal Council; and
WHEREAS, parts of Resolution 7R1-j inadvertently referenced the incorrect contract number, Contract #2016-13, that was being extended instead of the correct contract number, Contract # 2016-10, as was intended; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Public Works wishes to correct Resolution 7R1-j so that the correct contract number, Contract 2016-10, is extended.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
1. The Business Administrator and/or the Director of the Department of Public Works, formerly known as the Director of Neighborhood and Recreational Services, is hereby authorized to amend Resolution 7R1-j, adopted January 19, 2017, by deleting the incorrect references to Contract # 2016-13, and replacing it with the correct number of Contract # 2016-10 whenever the incorrect number appears in Resolution 7R1-j, specifically:
a. the contract number contained in the title page of the Resolution 7R1-j, adopted January 19, 2017, shall read as follows: “Extension of Emergency Contract #E2016-10.”
b. Sections 1 and 2 and the Statement of Resolution 7R1-j, adopted January 19, 2017 shall read as follows: “Contract #E2016-10.”
2. A fully executed copy of this corrective resolution shall be filed in the Office of the City Clerk by the Director of the Department of Public Works.
