WHEREAS, the State of New Jersey, Department of Transportation (“NJDOT”), State Aid to Counties and Municipalities FY2013 Municipal Aid Program (“NJDOT Municipal Aid Program”) provides grant funding for the improvement and construction of local, municipal, and county road and bridge projects; and

WHEREAS, the City of Newark needs to improve various roads that include drainage, ADA ramps, resurfacing, decorative crosswalks and pavement markings throughout the City of Newark; and

WHEREAS, the City of Newark desires to further the public interest by obtaining funding from the NJDOT Municipal Aid Program for improvements to various streets (10 locations) within the City of Newark; and

WHEREAS, on September 17, 2012, on behalf of the City of Newark, the Director of the Department of Engineering submitted an application to NJDOT requesting grant funding in the amount of $1,875,000.00 from the NJDOT Municipal Aid Program for Improvements to Various Streets - 2013 Newark Project (10 L...
