WHEREAS, the Sustainable Jersey Small Grants Program seeks to support community sustainability initiatives by encouraging local grassroots efforts to improve the quality of life in New Jersey municipalities and schools; and

WHEREAS, the City of Newark (the "City") is eligible for the Sustainable Jersey Small Grants Program as a registered, and participating community under the Sustainable Jersey municipal certification program as authorized by Ordinance 6PSF-e, adopted on August 3, 2016; and

WHEREAS, the City seeks to obtain funding to educate community members about the benefits of stormwater management utilizing green infrastructure practices including but not limited to residential rain garden demonstration projects; and

WHEREAS, the City seeks to leverage the in-kind technical assistance offer made by the Rutgers University Cooperative Extension Water Resources Program, which has secured a private grant from the Surdna Founda...
