WHEREAS, without any application required by the City of Newark, the State of New Jersey, Department of Labor and Workforce Development granted the City of Newark $120,000.00 (One Hundred Twenty Thousand Dollars and Zero Cents) in WorkFirst New Jersey On-the-Job Training (WFNJ-OJT) funds, to be provided to the Newark Workforce Development Board (NWDB), for State Fiscal Year 2017, (July 1, 2016 through June 30, 2017); and
WHEREAS, this is an annual grant allocation from the State of New Jersey, Department of Labor and Workforce Development, and must be used in accordance to guidelines stated in the Notice of Obligation (NOO), be consistent with the NWDB's strategic direction, and must be incorporated into the City of Newark Program Year 2016 Workforce Development Area contract; and
WHEREAS, these grant funds must be obligated by June 30, 2017 and fully expended by December 31, 2017; and
