WHEREAS, Ordinance 6PSF-f adopted on May 20, 2015, authorizes the designation of an intersection, etc. for honorary and ceremonial purposes; and

WHEREAS, on August 3, 2022, the Municipal Council adopted Resolution 7R8-f, authorizing the ceremonial street designation and signage "Ester Harris Way", at the intersection of Hawkins Street and Ferry Street. This amending resolution authorizes the name change to" "Esther Harris McArthur Way", with a ceremony date of Monday, September 19, 2022 at 1:00 P.M.; and

WHEREAS, Esther Harris McArthur, lived in Newark on Hawkins Street all of her adult life, worked at the Essex County, Department of Citizen Services, Division of Welfare for over thirty-five (35) years; and

WHEREAS, Esther Harris McArthur, raised four (4) daughters and over the years opened her home, here in Newark to provide fostering, adoption and mentorship for over thirty (30) children; and
